Monster Phonics Land Sound Game
Download each of the resources.
1. Show the map of Monster Phonics Land. Ask the children to identify objects/places they know e.g. a lighthouse, a tower, a train, a cow in the field.
2. Talk to the children about the types of sounds they might hear, such as a lighthouse bell, a tractor chugging in a field, or a car horn beeping.
3. Play the Environmental Sounds file. Pause after each sound and ask the children to identify on the map where they think the sounds might be made.
Variation
Show the Sound Picture Cards. Check that the children know what each object is. What sound does each one make? Can they make the sound with their voice? Encourage the children to talk about sounds in different environments, such as the sounds in the home or garden.
