Monster Phonics Trainer
Hi Guys! My name is Holly. I am currently a teacher and Year Group Leader in a three form entry primary school in Stevenage, Hertfordshire. I have been a teacher for eight years and have recently transferred to working in Key Stage One after spending my first six years teaching in Key Stage Two. I am part of the English faculty where I take a lead role in the development of Writing across the school, something which I am very passionate about. I first came across Monster Phonics when it was introduced by a member of SLT as a potential new scheme for our school and I instantly fell in love with it! Having jumped from teaching Year Five to start teaching Year One, the Monster Phonics scheme made my phonics planning, teaching and assessment so much easier to manage. I am now proud to be a part of the Monster Phonics training team alongside two other members of our school staff. I am very passionate about the positive impact Monster Phonics can have on children’s reading and spelling, as well as the sheer enjoyment with which they undertake every part of their learning.
Outside of work I really enjoy live music events, such as concerts and musicals. I can often be found in the kitchen baking cakes and inventing new recipes to try out on my friends and family!
