Laura Aulsberry

Monster Phonics Trainer

Hello everyone! My name is Laura and I am currently an EYFS teacher and Year Group Leader for an ‘Outstanding’ setting in a three-form entry school in Stevenage. Prior to my time as a teacher, I was a senior manager of a children’s charity, providing specialist holiday playschemes for children and young adults with a range of physical and SEN. I have been teaching now for six years and leading a year group for the past four years. I also form part of the English faculty, taking on the role of phonics co-ordinator. I helped introduce MP to our setting and we now live and breathe this fantastic approach to the teaching and learning of phonics. Monster Phonics has been remarkable for us as a school and we have some fantastic results in both our data and our children’s passion and love for the programme. The children in my year group love taking part in our daily phonics sessions and I have seen their enjoyment for reading blossom over the last year since implementing MP. As a result of seeing how beneficial MP has been, merged with my passion for teaching phonics, I am now proudly part of the Monster Phonics team as one of their trainers. I work alongside colleagues to deliver training sessions in Hertfordshire. This opportunity has allowed me to pass on my love for MP to other schools in order to share with them how amazing this approach is. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family and spoiling my two dogs. If you have any questions or would like to know more, then please email me at laura@monsterphonics.com
