Hello everyone, 👋
I hope you had a relaxing summer! I remember first-hand how important this time is for teachers. As you step back into the classroom, I’m sending my very best wishes for a year filled with both personal and professional success. Remember to be kind to yourself!
This is the first Monster Mash of the year. I know your time is precious, so I promise to keep our communications centred on what matters most to you and your children. Here’s what you need to know:
I’m incredibly proud of the Monster Phonics team for all they’ve accomplished over the summer months. We’ve been working tirelessly, and here’s a flavour of what we’re doing to support you and your children:
My team has put their heart and soul into updating our resources to ensure they’re perfectly aligned with the latest guidance. We’ve giving everything a fresh look, with new new downloadable material and updated videos. The lessons are highly structured to make the lessons easy to deliver.
The embedded PPTs enable paced teaching with no time wasted and overcome formatting issues for different platforms. Term 1 updates will be completed by September, and we’re already working on Terms 2 and 3. I’m so proud of what we’ve done, and I can’t wait for you to see the improvements!
We’ve created new decodable books for Reception, perfectly aligned with our teaching sequence. You can NEVER have enough books for reception children at the start of their journey. You have been asking for this new series for awhile and so, here it is!
Additional Adventures BooksI’m particularly proud of our new Phonics Kit Bag, a powerful intervention tool for Key Stage 2. I spent much of my teaching career supporting those who missed the reading train in Key Stage 1, and this resource is fantastic.
It features 38 engaging comics, over 800 flashcards, magnetic letters, completely free planning, and more—all designed to support children who need extra help with core phonics.
Phonics Kit BagWe love characters at Monster Phonics! I started with our beloved monsters, but now there are new ones to meet! I was blown away by the design and feel of the fiction and non-fiction books. I can’t imagine anyone not loving P2 and Phileas Dog!
Our NEW series is designed to complement school learning and provide structured phonics practice at home, guiding your child from their first sounds to reading fluency.
Featuring: comprehensive coverage, interactive learning, fun and effective, and flexible options.
Activity BooksLet us know if we can help! Whether you are needing support in school, have general questions or are interesting in purchasing new resources, we are happy to help.
CONGRATULATIONS TO SARA! Many of you will have been in touch with Sara, our Operations Manager. Sara is about to go on Maternity Leave but will be back with us later this academic year.
Supporting schools is at the heart of everything we do at Monster Phonics, and we’ve worked super hard to expand the training options we’re offering this year. Every school, no matter how long they’ve been doing phonics, will be supported through CPD!
