Making life easier in the classroom

We’ve been listening to your feedback and continuing to develop the Online Assessment Tracker and eBooks to make everyday use quicker and simpler.

Faster pupil search

You can now search for individual children directly in the Online Assessment Tracker, just start typing their name, or search by class in larger schools. It’s much quicker to find what you need without clicking through multiple classes.

This update is also being rolled out across eBooks, so everything works in the same simple way.

End of year made easier

We’re finalising an update that will allow you to move children up easily at the end of term, whether as whole classes, groups, or individuals, across both the tracker and eBooks.

Both of these updates came directly from feedback from schools. We listened and acted.

It’s been great to see the Word Building Tool being used more and more in classrooms.

We’ve made it easier to access, both from the main dashboard and within lessons, so it’s always there when you need it.

A few quick ways to use it:

• Use it in the review part of the lesson instead of PPTs or flashcards
• Model your thinking: “How do I spell knight, as in a knight in armour?” and work through it step by step
• Quick change rounds: swap one grapheme and children say the new word instantly
• Prediction: “What word am I about to make?” Build it one grapheme at a time based on recent learning

Keep it quick, keep everyone involved, and use it to make thinking and learning visible.

Thank you for everything you do.
