Monster Phonics provides everything you need to teach high quality 20-30 minutes phonics lessons. Complete planning and content are available for every lesson from Reception through to Year 2. Planning and progression are systematic allowing children to become confident, independent readers and writers. Instruction progresses in a logical sequence, starting with basic phonemes and gradually introducing more complex phonics patterns and spelling rules.
Daily lesson content is provided in easy-to-follow half-termly planning documents as well as on each individual lesson page on the online platform. All lessons have a clear consistent structure allowing for reviewing previously learning, introducing new skills and knowledge as well as plenty of time to practise, apply and embed that new learning. We also have a ‘hook’…a unique element of a song or story, featuring our joyful monster characters, that allows children to tune in to phonemes and focus in on those all important spelling patterns. And of course, they make learning enjoyable and create high levels of engagement!
