Monster Mash updates 16 10

Welcoming a new little monster 👋

We’re thrilled to announce that our brilliant Head of Operations, Sara Robayo, has welcomed a beautiful baby girl, Susanne! Both mum and baby are doing wonderfully. While Sara is away, Sarah Hore is stepping in to assist with all enquiries, supported by our dedicated team. We’re so grateful to have her on board.

Updates from Ingrid, Founder

I’ve been speaking to lots of people about future Monster Phonics resources. Recently, we received fantastic suggestions about developing Phase 1 books, capital letter magnets, and more. We have a “car park” for ideas, so nothing is ever forgotten! Some of our recent resources, like the activity books and the KS2 Kit Bag, were in the car park for a while before we got around to making them.
The key thing for me is that I always want Monster Phonics to create resources that children love. We’re committed to giving pupils the best possible experience, and that means a lot of love and attention to our thousands of resources.
On school visits, I’ve seen first-hand how new products like the Additional Adventures and Flying Ahead books are making a real difference. I recently received a wonderful note from a SENCO about the KS2 Kit Bag, which absolutely made my day!

We’ve also been receiving a lot of orders from parents via our website—80% are from children attending Monster Phonics schools! This has led us to develop a new scheme to help schools benefit from these parent sales, and to provide support to parents as they help their children with reading. We’ll share more details soon—it’s a bit like the traditional book fairs. There’s no obligation to take part, but we hope some of you will join in.

I'd like our school to take part!

Training Update – Kathryn Tilbury

It’s been a busy but rewarding time for our training team! Remember, our training calendar is available (view below) and there are a number of events still to come this term, including ‘Using the Decodable Books’ and ‘Building Firm Foundations in the Early Years’.
The passcode for MP schools booking on to the webinars is succeedwithmp. If you can’t make the live sessions, don’t worry, all webinars are recorded and placed in the training hub for you to watch at your convenience. Don’t forget to also check out Terms 2 & 3 and get your CPD in your diary.
We are also excited to announce we have just added 6 new nursery modules to the nursery training area of the website. Our certified nursery training has been developed to build early years phonics expertise across your whole staff team and highlights the importance of building those firm foundations.

Superhero Spelling – Toni Evans

We’ve had lots of enquiries about Superhero Spelling and bundle deals for existing schools. It’s simple and cost-effective to switch over – we ensure you don’t lose out, only gain by getting the bundle discount ! Just get in touch , and I will guide you through everything. You can also start by viewing the resources for free to see how they might work for you. Drop me an email at [email protected].
Update- We have now added a ‘recorded webinars’ tab to the training section of the superhero spelling platform, where you can find the ‘Free 1 hour training’ recording and the recent ‘Getting to grips with spelling in KS2’ webinar recording. This means you can watch these in your own time if you missed them.
